Hello World! My name is Sam Graham, and I am a game designer and developer with a goal to change the world (even if this just means helping a single player). Over the past seven, almost eight years, I have been creating, researching, and analyzing games with learning outcomes to teach players a variety of concepts from different fields. My skills range from card and board games to video games, and include a few escape rooms as well. Each game I create has the purpose of creating a moment of critical thought for the players and encouraging them to discover the broader world.
Notably in my career, I had the opportunity to study abroad for a year in Sweden at Uppsala University. Their game design program, located in the medieval town of Visby, is one of the best in the country. While there, I had the opportunity to take classes with exceptional game scholars, create various games, and even attend the student games conference, which showcased all the amazing work the program has accomplished. I’ve included a link to my travel blog, which is being slowly updated with this adventure, and hopefully, more updates are to come.
As you browse this itch page, you’ll discover how learning can be incorporated into games, sometimes without even realizing it at first. If you’re seeking a designer to bring some new ideas to you’re studio, let’s start a conversation.
